It goes without saying that Christoffel Pantin was sceptical about some new developments. Did not copying and distributing documents digitally with the greatest ease lead to an infringement of copyright, to the unfamiliarity of people with individual imprints and to the disintegration of the unity of the original product? Did not producing documents electronically mean that there was an explosion of information and a general decline of quality?
